MICROSOFT HAS RELEASED A PREVIEW OF WINDOWS 11, VERSION 22H2

Commercial organizations can now preview the Windows 11, version 22H2 preview prior to its release later this year. Members of the Windows Insider Program for Business can download this build via all standard channels, including Windows Update, Windows Update for Business, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), the Windows Insider Preview Downloads page, and the Azure Marketplace. The commercial pre-releases will come with free support for commercial organizations running these builds. In this way, you will be able to test the release—and your preferred deployment method—while still remaining supported. In the following sections, you will find additional information regarding how to deploy Windows 11, version 22H2, from various channels.

When a commercial device is configured for the Windows Insider Program Release Preview Channel through the Windows Update Settings page or via Windows Update for Business policy, Windows 11, version 22H2 will automatically be offered as an option upgrade provided the device(s) meet the Windows 11 hardware requirements. Those devices that are currently running Windows 10 but do not desire to upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2, should select "Stay on Windows 10 for now".
Continue to use the initial version of Windows 11 by avoiding downloading and installing Windows 11, version 22H2. The 22H2 preview is optional. In case you wish to remain with your current version of Windows, you will continue to receive preview quality updates for that version. Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune) users can enable pre-release builds by selecting "Windows Insider - Release Preview" as the channel, as shown here.

Microsoft releases Windows 11 feature update for enterprise testing


Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and WSUS now support Windows 11, version 22H2. To have Windows 11, version 22H2 appear as available in your console, make sure you sync the "Windows Insider Pre-release" category. Similar to the initial release of Windows 11, if a device is configured to send diagnostic data and does not meet the hardware requirements, the Windows 11, version 22H2 upgrade will be marked as inapplicable.

To obtain the ISO file, please visit the Windows Insider Preview Downloads page, locate the “Select Edition” section, and select “Windows 11 Insider Preview (Release Preview Channel) - Build 22621”. When multiple monitors are connected, Microsoft has added the capability to display the date and time on all Taskbars. The Taskbar now includes a weather widget as well as improved widgets. Microsoft Teams calls can be muted or unmuted directly from the Taskbar, which is also a useful feature.
